Privacy Policy

Effective date to be set

A clear summary of the information Gatsby uses to run entertainment discovery and social features, the choices you have, and the details that still need confirmation before publication.

Draft for review. The highlighted confirmation items must be resolved and reviewed before this policy is published as final.

About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Gatsby TV ("Gatsby," "we," or "us") handles information when you use our website and related services. Gatsby helps people discover movies and television shows, check where titles may be available, track and review titles, connect with friends, message, build lists, and follow sports.

Gatsby does not stream movies or television shows. If you follow an availability or other external link, that provider’s own privacy policy and terms apply to your visit there.

Operator details to confirm: Add the legal name and mailing address of the Gatsby service operator before publication.

Information we handle

The information involved depends on the features you choose to use. It may include:

  • Account and profile information: email address, display name, username, profile photo, and optional details such as birthday, gender, or phone number.
  • Your Gatsby activity: titles you save or mark watched, ratings, reviews, recommendations, search and browsing interactions, selected preferences, and sports interests.
  • Social and list content: friends and requests, messages and attachments, list names and descriptions, list items, visibility choices, invitations, and collaboration activity.
  • Device and service information: browser or device details, IP address, pages and features used, timestamps, diagnostic events, and information needed to protect the service and investigate errors.
  • Consent and preference information: your cookie or advertising choices and the settings needed to remember them.

Some profile and list information can be visible to other people when you choose public settings. Private lists and private account activity are intended for their permitted audience. Do not include sensitive personal information in a public profile, public list, or message.

How we use information

We use information to provide and maintain Gatsby; create and secure accounts; show profiles, lists, messages, recommendations, and sports features according to your settings; personalize discovery; respond to support requests; understand how the service is used; improve performance; and detect abuse, fraud, or technical problems.

We may also use service and interaction information to measure site traffic, advertising, and outbound referral activity. The exact analytics, advertising, and affiliate practices—and the choices available in each region—must be confirmed against the production configuration before publication.

When information is shared

We share information as needed to run Gatsby with service providers that support hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, analytics, advertising, customer support, or security. We may also share information when you choose to make a profile or list public, connect with friends, send a message or recommendation, or follow a link to another service.

We do not treat private lists or private account activity as public. A public list and the profile details you choose to make public may be visible to other Gatsby users and, depending on the page, to people who are not signed in.

Provider list to confirm: Review the current production processors and third-party integrations, their purposes, and the applicable links before publication. Do not rely on the obsolete mobile-app list on the previous policy.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Gatsby and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure use, and support advertising. Gatsby currently provides controls for functional, analytics, and targeting preferences. The precise defaults, technologies, and advertising behavior can vary by configuration and location.

You can review or change available choices through Gatsby’s cookie settings. Your browser also offers controls for deleting or blocking cookies and local storage; some site functions may then work differently. A consent interface does not by itself describe every technology or establish what legal choices apply where you live.

Consent review required: Confirm the shipped defaults, consent timing, ad personalization behavior, and regional controls before publishing this section.

Your choices and account controls

You can update profile information and public-profile visibility in Profile settings. Lists have their own visibility and collaborator controls. You can choose what to add to your account and whether to share content through public lists or social features.

You can start an account deletion request from Profile → Account actions. If you cannot access your account, contact support@gatsby.tv. The deletion scope, completion timeline, and any information retained for legal, security, or operational reasons must be confirmed before publication; the previous policy’s 72-hour promise is not carried forward.

Privacy rights and request options depend on where you live. Add the applicable rights, response process, and any region-specific contact details after legal review.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Gatsby, meet the purposes described here, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and meet legal or security requirements. Different information may have different retention periods.

Retention details to confirm: Specify the account-deletion process and retention periods for messages, list activity, uploaded files, logs, analytics, backups, and records that must be retained.

We use safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children and age requirements

Age rules to confirm: Confirm the minimum age for creating and using a Gatsby account, whether parental consent is supported, and the process for handling information collected from a child in error. Replace this note with the approved policy before publication.

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as Gatsby changes. We will post the current version here and update its effective date. If a change requires additional notice, we will provide it through the service or another appropriate channel.

For privacy questions or requests, contact info@gatsby.tv. For account deletion assistance, contact support@gatsby.tv.

Effective date: Set this date when the final text is approved and published.
