Summary
第二次世界大戦の最中、三井財閥企業の役員を父に持つ山本方子は、日本の美術学校で出会った朝鮮からの留学生 イ・ジュンソプと恋に落ちる。空襲が激化し、戦況が最終局面を迎えた1945年、方子は命懸けで海を渡り、故郷に戻っていたジュンソプのもとへ嫁いだ。幸せな時を過ごしたのも束の間、日本の敗戦後に勃発した朝鮮戦争の戦火と貧困に追われ、2人は再び、日本と朝鮮の地で離れ離れに。国交なき2つの国―それでも夫婦の愛は失われることはなかった。国を越え、海峡を越え、2人が交わした手紙は200通を越える。本作は、数奇な運命に翻弄されながらも、一途な愛と信頼を紡いだひと組の夫婦の姿を描き出したドキュメンタリーである。
